Why We Need STEM Programs

Student Benefit

That spark of student interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math created in the classroom can ignite a desire to know and do more.  Participation in a CPS SSF Inc. sponsored STEM program gives students the opportunity to pursue their own projects and activities, further fanning their interest and motivating further STEM education and careers. Pursuing a STEM project within the structure of participation in a STEM Exhibition provides hands-on STEM experience, feedback, recognition, and rewards beyond what can be accomplished in the classroom. The STEM Fair experience provides a real-world experience for the science, technology, engineering and math problem solving processes that students will use in STEM education and careers.

Society, Community, and Business Benefit

The 21st century environment, healthcare, and economic challenges that we all face will be addressed by individuals and a society that has a sound foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math principles and processes. Business and communities benefit from individuals who are both STEM literate as well as accomplished STEM practitioners.

Support of student STEM research through contributions to CPS Student Science Fair Inc. and it’s programs is an effective way for businesses to provide for the STEM educated workforce of the future.
