Citywide STEM Exhibition

Student projects judged to be high quality at the local school STEM Fair can participate in the CPS Regional STEM exhibitions, usually held in January. Students’ projects judged to be high quality at the Regional Exhibitions are selected to participate in the annual CPS Citywide Exhibition of Student STEM Research held in March.

Illinois Junior Academy of Sciences (IJAS) State Exhibition

The 50 highest quality projects at the citywide STEM Exhibition represent Chicago Public Schools at the State level. The state exhibition of the Illinois Junior Academy of Sciences (IJAS) will take place May 2nd and 3rd, 2025 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

IJAS Essay Contest

Students who participate in the Citywide Essay competition can be selected to represent CPS at the IJAS Essay Contest.

IJAS Symposium

Students who participate in the Citywide Symposium (presentation) competition can be selected to represent CPS at the IJAS Symposium Contest.
