STEM Exhibitions

Why CPS SSF Inc. Supports the Activities it Does

All students need encouragement and support to pursue their curiosity and activities in STEM areas. CPS SSF Inc. Through its donors, SSF CPS Inc. provides workshops and after school science clubs to expose students to hands-on STEM topics and projects, reinforcing and going beyond what can be provided in the classroom. Independent student projects presented at the school, regional, and citywide STEM Exhibitions provide students recognition, rewards, and constructive, knowledgeable feedback on their efforts, further motivated STEM education and careers.  Donor sponsored college scholarships provide financial support for post-secondary STEM education. A STEM knowledgeable and able workforce benefits the Chicago community and businesses, and can be the foundation for successful and rewarding careers.

Value of Student Participation in STEM Research and STEM Exhibitions

Students who pursue independent STEM projects and exhibit their work at CPS STEM Fairs at the school, regional, or citywide levels have their interest, curiosity, extra-curricular STEM efforts recognized, encouraged, and rewarded.

STEM Exhibitions give students thoughtful, constructive, and knowledgeable feedback on their work. Students receive valuable practical experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math processes that serve as a foundation for further STEM education and careers. They can qualify for college scholarships and participation in the Illinois Junior Academy of Sciences and Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) competitions.

Value of STEM Exhibitions to Business and Communities

The 21st century environment, healthcare, and economic challenges that we all face will be addressed by individuals and a society that has a sound foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math principles and processes. Business and communities benefit from individuals who are both STEM literate as well as accomplished STEM practitioners.

Support of student STEM research through contributions to CPS Student Science Fair Inc. and its programs is an effective way for businesses to provide for the STEM educated workforce of the future.
