If your background is in science and/or mathematics becoming a judge is a great way to support the CPS Student STEM Exhibition. If you are not a CPS employee fill out the simple CPS volunteer approval form linked below. Then, all prospective judges must fill out the appropriate STEM Exhibition Vounteer Judges form below for the area of judging in which you would like to participate (regional exhibitions, virtual essay, citywide symposium, or citywide exhibition).

2026 CPS Judges Volunteer Form - Regionals and City Exhibitions

This form is to register for one or more of the following events:

• This year, the Regionals STEM Exhibitions will be held in person for the first time since 2020
• Northside/Central Schools Regional STEM Exhibition - Saturday, 1/10/2026 at Von Steuben MSC (Carrie Kaestner: stemexhibition@cps.edu)
• Southside/Central Schools Regional STEM Exhibition - Saturday, 1/17/2026 at Carver Military Academy (Carrie Kaestner: stemexhibition@cps.edu)
• City STEM Exhibition - Afternoon of Friday, 2/6/2026 at Griffin Museum of Science and Industry (Carrie Kaestner: stemexhibition@cps.edu)
• Symposium held at Griffin Museum of Science and Industry on Thursday, 2/5/2026 (Lucy Young: layoung1@cps.edu)
• Special Awards Judging at City on Friday Afternoon, 2/6/2026 or Saturday, 2/7/2026 (Ruby Parnell-Booth: rsparnell-booth@cps.edu)

CPS Volunteer Approval Form

CPS policy now mandates that ALL prospective volunteers be approved at Level II on a yearly basis. To become an approved volunteer judge, please complete and submit the CPS approval check by following these steps:

1. Go to the CPS Volunteer Approval Form here
2. Choose "English" or "Spanish"
3. Choose "New Volunteer"
4. Complete all questions
5. For "School(s)/Organization(s)"  type in "Department of STEM", when the drop down entry shows "Department of STEM", press select.
6. Volunteer Type, select Level II
7. When asked "Are you volunteering to coach?" select NO
8. When asked "Type of Volunteer?"  select "Corporate/Professional Volunteer"
9. When asked "I am interested in volunteering in?" select "Competition Judge"
10. When asked "Are you volunteering for a specific day/overnight trip or school club?" select NO
11. Finish completing the application and submit.
12. Send a photo of your ID to camahon@cps.edu for volunteer approval.You will be notified when you are approved.
